I am so excited to be on the blog tour today for the brilliant Murray Bailey. His new book, Singapore Killer, is out June 1st… that’s tomorrow! You don’t want to miss out on this! So, what’s it about?
A helicopter crash and burned bodies.
A faceless corpse.
A mysterious town.
It’s September 1953 and Carter is drawn into a dark case from which there seems no escape.
Singapore Killer is the fifth book in the Ash Carter series!
Official blurb for Singapore Killer
I have been a fan of Murray Bailey for quite a few years now, and I am addicted to his fast-paced action-packed plots, and Singapore Killer is no exception!
Bailey carefully weaves a thrilling world of heart-stopping events leaving you hooked until the last page!
Bailey’s characters, as always, are brought to life. Ash Carter, the hero of his own story, has the charm of James Bond with the added sophistication of a gentleman. I really enjoyed reading this instalment of his investigative stories. He was a very likeable character and I connected with him early on in the novel. The other characters are written brilliantly as well, the villains were all portrayed as such, deepening the ‘good vs evil’ theme Singapore Killer conveys.
There is an air of mystery surrounding the plot. The exotic setting only adds to the heat of the story, and strange events take place which Ash must solve before it’s too late. The tense situation only drives the plot towards a climactic end, but is Carter up to the task? He sees things others don’t; clues, information, what connects them? And what about the mysterious calling card? It can only mean one thing… danger.
To break up the tension, there’s also a nice amount of wit and humour between the characters, especially between Carter and his companion. I really liked the way the characters gelled well together, only adding to my reading experience.
Bailey is also clever where he divulges clues. This may be the fifth instalment of Ash Carter, but you can easily read this book without having read the first four Ash Carter books (I hope you read those as well though!). Of course, there are hits and quips about his other adventures, but they’re not spoiled and there’s still enough edge and intrigue to check them out!
Murray Bailey, you’ve done it again!!
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the likes of James Patterson, Clive Cussler, or anyone who is searching for an exciting and thrilling read…. Singapore Killer is the page-turner you’ve been waiting for!
I can’t recommend this book enough!
